Solar thermal (heat) energy is a carbon-free, renewable alternative to the power we generate with fossil fuels like coal and gas. Solar Thermal systems are designed to provide domestic, industrial and commercial properties with hot water all year round while significantly reducing energy bills.
Solar Thermal technology has been used for over 30 years and is one of the most reliable and proven of renewable energy technologies.
How it Works
Solar collectors or solar panels collect sunlight that in turn heats up fluid carried in pipes. The pipes carry the heated liquid into your hot water cylinder through an element that then heats up the water in your cylinder for use. All solar systems require a solar heating cylinder which has a twin or triple coil for transferring the energy to the water in the cylinder or thermal store. Your solar heating system is rarely independent, and can connect to your other heating systems and boilers.
- Offers endless renewable energy that saves your money by reducing your energy bills.
- The system works throughout the year providing you with hot water all year round.
- Reduces the emission of CO2 and therefore protects the environment.
